Chapter 13

You better put that woman first."- Jaheim

"Baby, can you go get the programs out the car for me? I left them," Tara asked. Today was the day of her celebration dinner and she had rented a building, just for the occasion. Her grand openings to the dance studio and counseling center went well. Surprisingly, quite a few people had showed up at the counseling center, and she had ten new students that joined her dance studio. Now it was time for her to celebrate and toast to her accomplishments. "They should be in the trunk, in a box labeled ‘programs’."

"Sure, baby girl," Savion responded.

"Thanks," Tara walked over and kissed him on the lips. She went to pull away, but he gently cupped her chin and deepened the kiss.

"Have I told you how beautiful you look?" he questioned, releasing her while looking her over. She was wearing a red sweater dress that hugged her body like a second skin. Her long hair was straight and flowing down her back. She was wearing the earrings that Dre had given her, and a new bracelet and necklace that Savion had bought her the day before as a gift. She looked stunning.

"Yeah, like a hundred times in the last few hours," Tara joked.

Savion laughed. "It's the truth though." He hit the button on his wheelchair to head toward the door. "I'll be back with the programs."

"Okay."

Savion made his way out to the car with a smile on his face. It had only been two days, but he was working on getting things back on track with his family. He had just gotten the box of programs for Tara and was about to close down the trunk, when he heard a familiar voice calling his name from behind him. Aww hell no, he thought. He swung around in his wheelchair to face the person. "Brooklyn, what are you doing here?" he huffed, while looking her over. She was wearing a black dress and a pair of boots, as if she planned on coming to the dinner.

"I came to support you," Brooklyn explained, with a wide smile on her face.

Savion scrunched up his eyebrows. "Support me for what? This is not for me. This dinner is for my wife. You shouldn't be here."

"Well, I came to support your wife."

"Cut the bullshit, Brooklyn. You and my wife don't even get along," Savion scolded. "So again, why are you here?"

"You're right. I didn't come to support your wife. I came to see you," Brooklyn stated. "We need to talk. You have been ignoring my calls and you unfriended me on Facebook. I came up to the office twice, and your secretary wouldn't let me see you. Why are you treating me like this? I thought we were friends."

"We were friends, but after that little stunt you pulled at my house, we’re not anymore."

"So you’re cutting me off, because I told you how I felt? That was something that you needed to know. That's fucked up." Brooklyn shook her head.
